Welcome to the Essex Corinthian Yacht Club

The Essex Corinthian Yacht Club was established in 1984 with the mission to promote friendships within the local yachting community.  Our members are proud of our classic, yet casual, yacht club facility and our environment providing fun camaraderie for active yachtsmen and women. Our club is open to members and their guests eleven months of the year. We welcome the visiting yachting community.

 ECYC sponsors many fun social events and activities throughout the year. Please check our event calendar for updates. Additionally, we conduct numerous boating activities for both novice and experienced boaters and sailors.  Corinthians are actively involved in Frostbite racing (Spring and Fall Series), the Ideal 18 Summer Series, the Essex 12 Meter Challenge, the Essex Rum Challenge, the Tri Club Series including our own Thomas Clark Memorial Race, and ECSA sanctioned PHRF races throughout the season.  Corinthian sailors have a very proud history of racing accomplishment. Corinthians also cruise socially throughout Southern New England and Long Island Sound. Please see our calendar for specific events.
 
We operate two Ideal 18 sailboats for member use in racing, social sailing, and sailing instruction. We are proud to sponsor the Valley Regional High School sailing team supporting the next generation of Essex sailors.
 
We maintain two moorings in Essex Harbor and one in Hamburg Cove.  Please see our Visitor’s page for details.
 
Our second floor dining room and deck is a spectacular setting overlooking the Connecticut River with excellent menu’s for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch.  Please see our calendar for specific hours. We are pleased to be a BYOB club.
 
Our first floor River Room provides another space for smaller gatherings and is equipped with a wide screen TV. We also maintain a large outdoor gas grill on deck.  Both levels are available for private functions on a limited basis.

We are located on the waterfront in Essex, CT overlooking the beautiful Connecticut River. We are just six miles up river from the Old Saybrook Light on Long Island Sound and a short cruise to beautiful Hamburg Cove. Our Clubhouse is a brief and enjoyable walk to the village of Essex, CT.
